Durtro News: 5 February 2008

Dear All:

New Current 93 reissues of ‘Nature Unveiled’ and ‘Dogs Blood Rising’ with limited edition Andrew Liles remix CD added to the shop

Nature UnveiledWe have just added the reissues of Current 93’s seminal Birth-Canal Blues albums NATURE UNVEILED and DOGS BLOOD RISING to the shop. Both albums have been stripped back to their original format as they were originally released—two tracks on NATURE UNVEILED and five tracks on DOGS BLOOD RISING—and the albums have been beautifully re-mastered by Denis Blackham. Both CDs come with colour booklets containing early photographs of the ‘group’ members and the original insert material.

Dogs Blood RisingAs mentioned on our last update, the first 1000 copies of the albums will come with a bonus CD consisting of Andrew Liles’ radical and beautiful remixes of each album. They sound fantastic! These are now available from the shop and will be posted out when they arrive in early March. Each 2CD costs £13 plus postage and packing and VAT where applicable. These are also available from Durtro Jnana and Andrew Liles (MySpace).

OM cancel their appearances with Current 93 at Tilburg/Roadburn and London/Queen Elizabeth Hall

Al Cisneros of Om and David Tibet are very saddened indeed to announce that OM have had to pull out of their forthcoming American and European dates—including two appearances with C93—due to the sudden and unexpected departure of Om’s drummer Chris Hakius from the group. The group will continue, and they will be working with C93 in the near future. Go to their official website and MySpace site for a statement by Al Cisneros on the situation.

Skitliv added to the Roadburn festival event curated by David Tibet

I am delighted to announce that the group led by vocalist Maniac have been added to the Roadburn event. David has been working with Maniac recently and loves their music and is very happy indeed they will be appearing with C93 and friends.  www.myspace.com/skitliv777

Delays in sending out David Tibet signed art prints

We were pleasantly surprised by the demand for the limited edition signed art prints of David Tibet’s artwork. Although, limited to 108 copies of each design, we were having these printed in batches of 20 for budgetary reasons. We have ordered the remaining prints now, which will be with us on 8 February. However, David Tibet is going to be away in Egypt for a Coptic conference between 3 to 17 February, so he will not be here to sign them as soon as they arrive. He will, of course, sign all the prints upon his return and we will ship them out during the week starting the 18 February. We thank you for your patience. Thank you!

Current 93 and Durtro Jnana

We will soon be making a major announcement on the future of Current 93, Durtro Jnana and Durtro Press. Thank you all for your support and many kindnesses to us.

love to all, David Tibet+++
